About the Author

Valerijs Dombrovskis is a psychologist, researcher, and assistant professor. He began his career in the darkest corners of the human mind, studying what drives people to cross the line into crime. Today his research focuses on how technology transforms perception, identity, and the lives of those often called “digital natives”.

As director of a bachelor’s program at the university and founder of the Latvian Cyberpsychology Association, Valerijs combines academic research with applied projects. He is also the author of Cyber Self. All About the Cyber World, a book about how technology affects human identity.

Gobby’s Adventure is his way of turning psychological research into art and storytelling. The webnovel blends dark fantasy with psychological themes, and carries a deeper layer – a reflection of his studies on the dark side of human behavior, on control and the struggle for freedom. The conceptual core is rooted in psychology, showing a world where identity, power, and freedom are tested in extreme conditions. His long-term goal is to expand the story into a fully illustrated novel and ultimately into an animated series.
